I’m not really sure why I was so surprised with the results of the holiday weekend. I have been well aware of my place with a few families for quite some time, and I had gotten too comfortable. Which is fine, sometimes we need reminding of our significance or lack there of.
That’s all I will say on the matter. I had enough words exchanged and thought this weekend to last me for quite some time. Hard to believe that I try to remain peaceful isn’t it? I swear the fan that insists on being hit with shit follows me around on a regular basis. Hence my lack of emotion, after a while it’s just easier to not care or just get angry throw my fit and say my piece and be done with it. I can not deny the twinge of pain is still constant when I think of the horrible words said.
On the plus side, I did spend time with a few friends this weekend. Mim let me borrow the second book to the Twillight saga, which I engrossed myself with to throw off my mind for a bit…well three and a half hours is all it took up. I really did try to not hunker down and read that fast, apparently it isn’t possible. And yes, I about threw it out of the window. I understand why it is the least liked out of the series for sure.
My god-daughter’s big number 4 birthday was yesterday, however we celebrated on Sunday. And my roomie kept us moving yesterday after going to a “meeting” yesterday morning for my best friend, otherwise the thoughts would have consumed me.
And this afternoon we will be putting up decorations and cleaning with Christmas music blaring (because you can trust in the fact I have neglected my domestic duties for a couple of weeks).
