I’m sorry, did you WANT to work?

Yesterday at about 2ish in the afternoon, most of us were droning on in our little cube worlds (technically I was reading blogs, trying to catch up…shh). When suddenly you heard -BOOM- and the power went out. After a few collective gasps my office stopped, expecting the lights to come back on. After about 10 minutes we realized they probably wouldn’t be coming back on anytime soon. And most of us started wondering around, gossiping and whatnot. I called my roomie (she works right up the street from me) and found she too had no power, resulting in a few mins of terror at her work place. She works at a retirement home, that just so happens to have high elopement risks. Yeah, you can imagine the choas. So glad I do not work there anymore.

While we were waiting to see if we were going to have to stay or not myself and two other co-workers were looking at pictures from one of their birthday parties the night before, and I suddenly remember…hey I have my camera!

So there you go. The one with the pink stripes is my cousin (who just found out she’s having a boy!!!) and the one in the red stripes is V (it was her birthday party). Happy Birthday if you’re reading this!!

About 10 minutes after this picture was taken, HR dismissed us for the day. (wohoo!) Apparently there had been an accident and the car happened to pick the pole that had the transformer. Causing the entire street to go down. This is the busiest street in my town folks, needless to say it got ugly. Traffic lights were old, the entire shopping center beside of us went out with people inside, people in elevators etc.

To avoid the craziness I decided to go through the mall parking lot that is on the other side of my work. When I spotted a very familiar car with a HUGE horde (WoW reference…forgive me) symbol on the back. Ah ha! Mim’s husband just so happened to be working at his store! And being that I’m nosey, I went in and chitchatted with him and a guy I went to school with for a bit. (this caused a sudden realization on the 6th I have been out of school for 5 years…ouch.)

So that was the excitment of the day, probably the week. And I got to get out of work two hours early and got paid! WOHOO!!!

This will be my last post until next Thursday.  I will be sure to take plenty of pictures sadly the hotel we’ll be staying at does not have wireless so my taking the laptop will be useless. But I’m taking it anyway to download the pictures.
